Why do this?

These lids will highlight the massive amounts of plastic we have clogging up our waterways and oceans. I want to draw attention to our stewardship and responsibilities for our waterways and usage of plastics.

Chris Jordan is a photographer who has great images on his web site at http://www.chrisjordan.com/gallery/midway/#CF000313%2018x24 about what happens to sea creatures that mistake colourful plastics as food and either eat it or feed it to their babies.

Community Involvement

I will be working with art teachers to work together to make a 10 m long by 4 m drop. This impressive artwork will take over 20,000 plastic lids. I am keeping a legend of donors, and will display an updated list in the section titled Legend in this blog.
